Kerry Airport schedule returning to normal

6 May

Kerry Airport expect the flight schedule to return to normal later following earlier cancellations.

Efforts are being made to try and get flight schedules back to normal, after yesterday’s day of disruption at the country’s airports. There’s still a number of flight cancellations today and passengers are being urged to check with their airline for an update on their flight.

At Kerry Airport today, the 6.30am flight to Dublin, and its return flight due in at 8.35am have been cancelled. However all other flights today from Kerry Airport are operating as normal.
Dublin, Waterford, Cork, and Donegal airports were all cleared for operation from 4am, with Shannon, Knock, Galway and Kerry resuming operations on a staggered basis across the morning.

A number of cancellations remain on the boards – down to a mix of diverted aircraft being in the wrong place, and the fact that flights were cancelled because of earlier, more pessimistic predictions. Ryanair predicts no disruption to its operations at Dublin, Knock and Cork – its Shannon services will resume after 10am. The airline says it will add extra flights between Ireland and the UK later today to clear the backlog.

Aer Lingus intends to operate the majority of its short-haul services. But while the ash cloud is moving over the Atlantic, Eyjafjallajökull continues to erupt – meaning we’re still at the mercy of prevailing winds.
