300 Volunteers needed for the ‘Kerryman’ Dingle Marathon

6 Aug

300 volunteers are needed for the Kerryman Dingle Marathon, which is set to take place Saturday September 4th 2010.

An estimated 3,000 runners are expected to line up race morning, and the Dingle marathon organisers are seeking people to sign up for a variety of duties that need to be filled on the day. Last year the inaugural Dingle Marathon received huge support from the community and this year the organisers are hoping to see the locals out in full force again. All volunteers will receive a special Dingle marathon t-shirt and the ‘friendliest volunteer’ will win two nights B&B in the Skelligs Hotel.

“One of the best things about the marathon taking place on a Saturday is that it allows families and friends to have the opportunity to volunteer together” said Tadhg Moriarty, Event Director and volunteer coordinator. There are plenty of opportunities, ensuring that there is truly a volunteering opportunity for everyone.

Volunteers are needed to help with everything from the pre-race setup of the starting and finish lines, registration, and manning water stations to chip removal at the finish line and clean up.

If you are interested in volunteering in this year’s Dingle marathon please call Tadhg on 066 9796898 or email him at tadhg@approved.ie.
