Plans for a massive 4.7 billion euro investment which could see the creation of over 4,000 jobs in Tralee are currently at development stage. The project would involve the creation of a Global Pharmaceutical Centre of Excellence in the town. Radio Kerry news understands that an initial meeting took place in the town last week and that a project team has been appointed. Plans are at a very early stage and its believed that if the project goes ahead it would be September 2012 before it would get underway. Its understood that the former Amann and Klopman sites in the town are being considered as locations. If the project was to suceed it would make Tralee the biggest single centre of employment in the state and could potentially increase the population of Tralee by a massive 22%. The majority of positions would be for pharmaceutical graduates in the r and d areas, and the project could involve up to 30 different campuses.
