55 new jobs announced for Tralee

Two high tech companies will provide the jobs, which will be located at Kerry Technology Park. The announcement has been welcomed by Deputies Martin Ferris, Tom McEllistrim and Jimmy Deenihan.

Straker, a high tech firm that develops software allowing websites to run across several languages is to establish his European headquarters in Tralee creating 25 jobs.

While ENERCON, a manufacturer of wind turbines will establish a technical services operation in the town, creating 30 jobs over the next two years.

The 25 positions offered by Straker are in sales, technical support, technical development and administration. ENERCON’s Tralee based operations will service the wind energy markets in Ireland and Britain and the jobs will be in the areas of technical support and management.

    The Irish Times reports that 55 new jobs are to be created at two companies in Tralee, Kerry. Wind-turbine group Enercon is to double its Irish workforce to 60, while web design company Straker is creating 25 jobs at a new European headquarters. Minister for Enterprise Batt O’Keeffe welcomed the decision by New Zealand firm Straker to establish its European headquarters at Kerry Technology Park, alongside Tralee Institute of Technology, as a vote of confidence in Ireland’s reputation as a smart economy.
