Take your Seat for Bloom Event

18 May

Comfort will be the order of the day after the organisers of the upcoming Bloom Concert in Tralee Town Square on Sunday May 31st decided to make the early Stage line-up of acts an all seated affair. In addition to this positive development, punters will be afforded an opportunity to purchase a “late-ticket” for only €20 which will entitle them to access the venue for the late Stage line-up once Tommy Fleming finishes his performance. A day-long ticket is only €37.50.

Eight bands in two stages will rock the Square Tralee during the Sunday of the Whit Bank Holiday as part of a major drive to fund the street entertainment for this year’s 50th Anniversary Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Bryan Carr Event coordinator with the Festival of Kerry Support Group said: “We and the early Stage Artists felt that providing the option to sit or stand for their performances would be of great benefit for their Kerry Fans.” However Bryan added that the late gig due to its nature would be standing only. “Seating would be based on advanced ticket sales only so fans of the early stage artists would need to book in advance to have the option of a seat.”

While all of these Artists have played Kerry in recent months and have a large following here, for most of them it will be their first outdoor concert performing in the area and they are all looking forward to the event and the atmosphere their Kerry Fans generate.

The time slots for the impressive line-up of acts at the BLOOM concert were also announced this week. With the KDYS Battle of the Bands Winners kicking it off.
4.00 ‘Sever the Nerve’
4.30 Deeper Well
5.00 John Spillane
6.00 Mick Flannery and Band
7.00 Tommy Fleming and Band
The Late Stage will see
9.00 Jack L with his Band
10.30 The Coronas at 10.30pm
12.00 Brush Shiels

How will it all work, closing the square and everything?
Bryan Carr explained: “Firstly, we have received great support from the businesses and individuals within the secure zone. Secondly, we have over fifty crew to co-ordinate the entire event and we advise people to treat this concert the same as if they were going to Croke Park for a Concert.”
“Ticket sales are strong and our capacity is capped so we hope people come out and support this fundraising initiative. A full day pass to see all eight bands is offering fans of each artist the opportunity to come and go as they please or stay within the fully serviced event for the nine hours and experience four top Irish selling Artists,” he said.
Tickets for the BLOOM concert are available at €37.50 & €20 for the late Stage (no Booking Fee applies) from Roxy stores (Tralee, Killarney, Limerick and Cork); online from http://www.bloomtralee.ie or by phone 1890 305 305 (Mon-Fri)
The BLOOM concert has the backing of Tralee Vintners & Traders along with Holiday Tralee. The event is being staged by the Festival of Kerry Support Group.
