50 jobs to go in Killarney at BeoCare

21 Apr

A Killarney-based healthcare company, which researched products to combat hospital superbugs, looks set to close with the loss of over 50 jobs.

BeoCare opened in 2005 in the former Pretty Polly plant which is held in trust by Killarney Town Council. A spokesman for the Town Council confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that it had been in contact with a liquidator in relation to rent and service charges owed by BeoCare.

“Details are only emerging since last week,” the spokesman said. “It is too early in the process to determine the chances of recovery of the monies. “We have been in contact with the receiver in relation to outstanding debts.”
