Campaign to make part of Inch beach nudist

20 Mar

A campaign is underway to designate a part of the famous Inch Strand in West Kerry, as ‘clothing optional’. The Irish Naturists Association is to contact Kerry County Council, requesting to have part of the beach sectioned off, for people who like to sunbathe naked. They are to write to all candidates running in the local elections, seeking their support. A similar campaign for a nudist beach in Ballybunion in the 1990s came up against strong local opposition. However, President of the Naturists Association, Pat Gallagher, believes Kerry people have become a lot more broad-minded since then.
