Gulliver Ireland Online hotel bookings grew by 11%

4 Mar

Online hotel bookings grew by 11% last year according to Gulliver Ireland. The hotel bookings arm of FEXCO launched their Hotel Sector Review to coincide with the Irish Hotel Federation Annual Conference taking place in Killarney.

According to the review, Kerry is among the top five counties for online bookings. While the Gulliver Ireland Hotel Sector Review 2009 revealed hotel bookings performed well last year, the company acknowledged the industry faces a very challenging year ahead.

The launch of the review comes as the Chief Executive of the IHF demands a twenty per cent reduction in energy prices. John Power says the discount is required to help businesses pull through the economic downturn. He said heating and electricity represents over 10 % of operating costs of most hotels and guesthouses.
