Kerry has received a larger proportion of lottery funding than any other county. The figure, based on funding per capita, is published in today’s Sunday Tribune. It shows that during the period 2003-2008 Kerry received more than €20 million euro, which was allocated to GAA clubs, soccer teams and rowing facilities. That’s the equivalent of €147 per person in the county – the highest per capita spend in the country. Lottery funding is distributed by the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism (which is now located in Killarney – coincidence??).
