The Taoiseach has cast doubt on the agreement made with Kerry South Deputy Jackie Healy Rae in return for his support for the Government. However when contacted by Radio Kerry News, Independent TD Jackie Healy Rae said hasn’t been notified by the government of any change to what’s been agreed.
Brian Cowen was speaking in the Dáil about the exchequer figures, which show a shortfall of almost 8 billion euro in taxes by the end of this year. He said sustaining healthy public finances will be the Government’s main consideration. He added that all commitments made with Jackie Healy Rae and his fellow independent TD Michael Lowry will be looked at in this context.
