Tralee Bypass takes a step closer

11 Jul
A major step in a 160 million euro road project for Kerry has been taken. The National Roads Authority (NRA) has given approval to Kerry County Council to begin the Compulsory Purchase Order phase of the Tralee Bypass. The project will consist of 8 kilometres of dual carriage way. The bypass will run from the N69 Tralee-Listowel road at Leith to the N21 Tralee-Killarney. It will continue to the N70 Tralee-Killorglin road and will also link up to the N22 Killarney -Ballycarthy road. The details of the project will be published on July 23rd.
A spokesperson for Kerry County Council says that up to 100 landowners will be affected by the bypass. The landowners will be contacted shortly by the council to explain how exactly their land holding will be affected.
