The Labour leader says he wants to know whether the Dails soon-to-be-established new Irish-language translation service can be used to figure out the status Dingle.
Under the placenames order, Dingle now has to call itself An Daingean.
But the people of the peninsula have already voted to call it Dingle Daingean Ui Chuis.
Pat Rabbitte says confusion reigns over how exactly the town can brand itself to tourists.
