Marks and Spencers apply for planning in Tralee

30 Jan

Marks and Spencer’s has applied for planning permission to open a store in Tralee. The town council will decide within the next two months whether it will allow the company open a branch in Manor West Retail Park. Marks and Spencer’s submitted the planning application to Tralee Town Council on January 19th. The new store will be an amalgamation of three existing units in Manor West and the company also wants to construct a two storey, 28 feet high extension to the building. It also plans to sell alcohol in the convenience section of the store.

Marks and Spencer’s is one of Europe’s most successful retailers and has 11 stores in the Republic. A company spokesperson refused to comment on its plans. However, the manager of Manor West Retail Park, Derek Rusk says the centre is delighted that Marks and Spencer’s has lodged a planning application.
