Ross Castle to slash opening hours

The Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce says the reduction of opening dates for Ross Castle is unacceptable. According to the Chamber, the Office of Public Works has reduced the opening dates for the Castle by almost 30%. The OPW says the cuts which means Ross Castle will open on April 2nd instead of March 17th and will close on October 14th instead of mid November is a result of the mandatory 3% reduction in their staffing budget. Jerry O’Grady, Executive Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce says to curtail the opening dates of Ross Castle could spell disaster for the local industry
